Cricket Boland proudly announced that 42 of its clubs have been selected as beneficiaries of the National Lotteries Commission (NLC). This significant support will enable these clubs to enhance their operations and provide better resources for their players.

The NLC has approved funding to provide apparel, equipment, and transportation assistance to the selected clubs. This support will undoubtedly boost the overall infrastructure and development of cricket within the Boland region.

“We are thrilled and grateful to be chosen as beneficiaries of the National Lotteries Commission,” said James Fortuin, Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Boland.

“This support will make a meaningful impact on our clubs and players, allowing them to develop the next generation of cricketers.” He continued

The NLC’s commitment to supporting grassroots cricket aligns perfectly with Cricket Boland’s mission of promoting the sport and nurturing young talent. The partnership between the two organizations is set to create a positive ripple effect throughout the cricketing community in the region.

We are excited to see the positive outcomes that will result from this funding. Sport and recreation are crucial not only to building a healthy, winning nation but also to encouraging social cohesion,” added Odaho Ntšana, spokesperson for the NLC.

While the support from the NLC will not only benefit the 42 clubs directly involved, one would also hope that each club will also create space for women’s cricket to also benefit from the NLC resources, such partnerships also contribute to the growth and success of cricket and Boland as a whole have an opportunity to solidify their growth in cricket.
